Black Warrior Minerals (Black Warrior) is a steelmaking coal mine near Birmingham, in Jefferson County, Alabama. A wholly-owned subsidiary of Allegiance Coal, we are committed to the responsible mining of coal required for steel production.

Black Warrior is located 25 miles north of Birmingham, Alabama.
The mine sits within the Black Warrior River Basin, which has been mined for nearly 150 years. Black Warrior was founded in 1984 and the site has been actively mined since 2009.
In 2022, the mine will reach production of a projected 400,000 tonnes, with plans to scale to 500,000 annually over the nine-year life of the mine.
